Adam Hollowell
I am an ethicist, consultant, and founder working at the intersection of applied ethics and artificial intelligence. For more than twenty years I have helped leaders, teams, and organizations think clearly about hard questions — and act on the answers.
As a consultant and certified change manager, I have designed and facilitated talent development programs, led organizational assessments, and advised senior leaders on values-driven change across business, nonprofit, and higher education. I founded AI Ethics Consulting to help organizations adopt AI responsibly, build governance frameworks that hold up under real conditions, and develop the judgment their people need to use it well.
I am also an active contributor to the public conversation about AI ethics. I co-host a monthly webinar series with the Center for Practical AI on the ethical dimensions of everyday AI use, write regularly at ethicsconsulting.ai and at From the Ethics Desk on Substack, and speak to organizations and audiences about the questions that matter most as these systems develop.
My training is in philosophical and theological ethics. I completed my PhD at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where I studied religion and the ethics of state violence — work that trained me to analyze complex moral traditions, surface hidden assumptions in policy debates, and translate ethical principles into practical guidance. My background in ethics, responsible governance, and the social implications of consequential decisions is what I bring to AI ethics now.
